Take Naps

A self-indulgent walk down memory lane in honor of my 30th birthday (today!) with a daily picture from each year of my life and a lesson I've learned somewhere along the way.

Naps are magical, restorative things. When I was (very) pregnant with Stinky my whole family dragged me to see I Am Legend, despite my protests that I didn't think I would enjoy it. I wound up spending the last 15 minutes of the movie in the lobby sobbing over the stupid dog. I cried all the way home. I continued to cry until I finally just laid down and took a nap. When I woke up I was able to move on with life like a normal, adult human being.

Taking a nap is like pressing the reset button on your mental and emotional state.

  1. I also saw I Am Legend pregnant and also sobbed the whole way through. It was embarrassing, ugly sobs, too. I hope you got a lovely birthday nap today!

  2. NAPS! They are the best. I wish I could take more of them. Whenever Blaine and I are upset with each other I just want to sleep and he refuses to sleep until we hash it out. Wish he would just learn to let me get some zzzzs ;)

  3. I am a HUGE believer in naps. Long ones, or even just little ones. It really is like a reset button.

  4. YES!!! Naps FTW every. single. time.

Also, I am incapable of taking a 30 minute nap. It's either nothing or a 3-hour snooze-fest for me, there is no inbetween.
