Happy Weekend!

Me at Disneyland in 1988

This week has been crazy busy so, until this morning, I haven't had the time to think about the fact that we are going to DISNEYLAND THIS WEEKEND. Aghhhhhh!!!

My kids are dying of excitement. This is their first time going! I feel bad that they haven't had a little more exposure to some of the classic Disney movies but all they really care about is Cars Land, so whatever.

Ratting out my sister to Cinderella.

Now I'm in crazy packing and planning mode and I'm realizing I have done ZERO research into doing Disneyland with kids. I grew up going about once a year but this is my first time as a parent.

Anyone have any tips or tricks or words of advice for taking an almost 6-year-old and a 3 1/2-year-old?

Will Stinky hate me forever if I take him on Space Mountain? Are we going to last until the fireworks at least one night? How cold will we be? I'm still feeling very pants averse- would I be crazy to wear skirts?

Easy DIY Ombre Jeans! Perfect for fall!

  1. Oh my goodness, I wish I had known!!! Let's see if I can sum up my words of wisdom.
Most importantly: go with the flow!!!! There is soooo much to see and do, it's easy to feel stressed about not seeing everything. You won't see everything. Just go with what makes the kids happy, pick two or three highlights that you just must see and then just absorb the magic no matter what you hit or miss.

    1. It wouldn't let me finish :/
Second point: use the parent switch pass!!! If you have kids who can't/won't ride a ride they will give you a pass so you don't have to wait in line twice. And the pass is good

    2. For two people so if #1 wants to ride but not #2, you and Aaron can each ride with stink, but only wait in line once

  2. Last one: bring a stroller for BOTH boys!! That way you can push through much longer. We never go back for naps and we usually stay from open to close. The stroller allows them to get done down time and avoid meltdowns. Have fun!!!!!!!!

  3. We went to Disney World last Christmas and Jonah was 4 1/2 (Caroline was just a baby, so I'm not sure that's helpful). I bet you can make it to the fireworks one night, especially if you leave around lunch and have a nap/rest back at the hotel until dinner. The one thing that we didn't expect was how hungry and thirsty our kids would be. It seemed like we were always taking snack and drink breaks. Have a great time!
