Old Navy

One of my sort of unofficial goals for the year is to keep my clothes shopping to a minimum. I have a tendency to go shopping out of closet boredom rather than necessity but this blog has taught me time and again that my closet has tons of awesome options if I'm willing to put forth a little effort. As a result, I have spent very little time doing any kind of online window shopping. Why tempt myself?

Then Madeline posted some of Old Navy's ridiculously cute spring dress offerings and I found myself delving into the website and THEN I had to hide my car keys from myself. I. don't. need. anything.

But seriously, Old Navy has been upping their game. On top of the pretty dresses that Madeline posted I found quite a few other things I'd love to take home with me:

1. Colored chambray - a fresh take on the more traditional chambray from last year

2. Black and white color block top - graphic black & white is very on trend right now but still feels crisp and classic. I love the flattering silhouette- this is my FAVORITE shape for shirts. Very kind to tummies that have carried babies. Wear it with skinny jeans and feel like a million bucks. (I actually went to the store in search of this one but the stores apparently don't have it yet.Thwarted!)

3. Striped tie waist dress - add a messy bun and strappy sandals = what I want to wear all summer long.

4. Tea length jersey skirt - I have a couple jersey skirts from ON and they carry me through the summer. Mine are boring solids though...LOVE the colors here. (although I saw it in the store when I went in search of the B&W top and it didn't strike me as much in person)

5. Striped keyhole swimsuit - It's like my skirt in swimsuit form. The angled stripe on the sides is really slimming.

  1. One of my unofficial goals for the year was to buy fewer places at things like Old Navy... but they are making it difficult! The key is definitely just to avoid the window shopping :)

  2. How did you know I set a no shopping spree on myself or the next three months? I want everything you posted and will probs be looking at their website and maybe driving by their store later...

  3. I love the look of their clothes but ON disappoints me time and again with the quality of their clothes. I know you get what you pay for but really...

    Cute though!

  4. I really like that color chambray shirt! I also need to cut down on my shopping but seeing so many great pieces on blogs makes it really tempting to buy new stuff.

  5. Man, ON has totally stepped up their game in the last 6 months. I kind of ridiculously want that suit. Although sadly, I'm not seeing it on the website...

  6. I kind of feel like avoiding the jersey stuff is the way to go at ON. It's definitely a lower quality. But when I get other stuff there it tends to hold up better. Like I bet the chambray shirt and color block top would be fine.

  7. With your challenges (that must be so much work for you but thank you :), have helped me so much to delve into my closet and not quite do as much clothing shopping out of boredom. This post has me excited to pull out the spring clothes. Love my jersey skirt from ON.

  8. Oh, I love that chambray shirt in red. So cute... it would be a nice addition to my Lonely Girl Valentine's Day wardrobe, since my beau will be out of town.

It would look fabulous with yoga pants and tall wool socks, considering my day will consist of a visit to the OB/GYN and the rest of the day will be spent on the couch, sulking into a tub of Ben and Jerry's. Comfort is of the utmost importance. Obvi.

I need to put myself on a shopping diet for a month or two. There's really nothing I need right now...

Alas, I WILL NOT go shopping, I will not go shopping....

  10. Wow! Those are some great options. Looks like I will be hiding my car keys as well.

  11. OK, I'm usually way too shy to actually comment but I have to. But, I have to say thank you for inspiring me to actually like, not look like a disgusting, yoga-pant clad mess. My husband also says thank you. I stay home with two kids under two (so I don't get put together *everyday*) and it's nice to feel like I look good, even if I don't go anywhere. :)

  12. I have to agree with above comments...I love the look of ON clothes, but don't always love the quality after being washed once...

  13. I agree, while the quality isn't the best, I think they've recently improved!

  14. Ahhh - they really are stepping it up! Loving the colored chambray. My go to hobby when I'm bored is online window shopping - soooo dangerous :)

  15. They really have some cute clothes these days. Though the quality is often questionable. But I snagged a few things for a dollar so I'm not complaining!

  16. I wimped out and ended up buying the colored chambray shirt. I'm planning on wearing it... with yoga pants and red wool socks. As promised.
