A Sunday Share

I've spent the past couple weeks trying to think of service activities I could do with my kids around the holidays. They're too young to be able to understand or do most of the ideas that I came up with.

On Tuesday, we met up with some friends for lunch at Chick-fil-a (play place!). At the register I noticed a pamphlet and a red and green shoebox and the lightbulb over my head dinged on.

My kids understand toys. And they can understand that some kids don't have toys. Stinky is getting really excited to go shopping this week to fill our shoeboxes!
If you want to join in the fun with us, here's how it works: Pack a shoebox full of toys, school supplies and hygiene items this week and drop it off between the 14th and the 21st. Enjoy your warm fuzzy feelings of holiday cheer. Easy!

Have a wonderful Sunday :)

  1. my office (and company at large) puts together operation Christmas child boxes every season! it really is such a fun activity. one of my coworkers shared how she brought her 6 y/o boy along with her to pick out items for our box and how much he enjoyed the activity, so i'm sure your kids will have the same experience. :)

  2. I really love this idea and I'm sure it's something that my kids would understand and remember!

  3. We did this when I was a kid. It has been around for quite a while and is such a cool program! I hope your kids enjoy doing something nice for others!

  4. What a great idea!!
It's always so important to teach our children that sometimes life isn't about receiving, it's about giving. Can't wait to hear about the boxes you all put together.
