My fall wish list is short but sweet.
1. A closed toe pair of wedges that is comfortable and low enough for daily wear (as opposed to 3-hours-on-Sunday-church-wear). I saw these at Target, tried them on and loved them but they didn't have the color I wanted in my size. Strangely, they have completely different colors online than they did in the store, but the pair I loved was a nice cognac brown. I kind of want to check out Last Chance too, just in case. I've had good luck with shoes there in the past.
2. Herringbone...something. Skirt, blazer, I don't even care. Ever since I saw this pin I've been dying to pair lace with herringbone and my mind cannot rest until I've done it. I've been looking for a couple months now but the Goodwill gods have been surprisingly stingy with their herringbone. I'm pretty close to just buying myself some fabric and whipping up another pencil skirt. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
3. Vests. Sweater or otherwise. I saw a cute slouchy sweater one at JC Penney this week but I think I want one with a little more structure, like this one. Plus I didn't want to pay $30. I am cheap. I bought a vest pattern from JoAnns not all that long ago but, despite their claims of "sew easy", it is...not.
What's on your fall wish list? Do you have some herringbone you could lend me?

Hey, I tried on those wedges in brown at Target yesterday, too! But they also didn't have my size. Funny (and a bit annoying).
ReplyDeleteUm yes. Those are allll on my list too! If you find those perfect wedges, let us know! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a herringbone skirt that I love. I'm going to pair it with some lace - sounds like a fun idea. Loving vests, too.
ReplyDeleteTotally have those wedges in gray. Love them.
ReplyDeletei have a pseudo-herringbone swing jacket from Kohl's that i love. and a pair of herringhone trousers that i sort of hate. but i think a skirt would be fantastic! i'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteHa, I tried on those wedges too...but settled for some higher ones from Target that are black. They're actually pretty comfy and more suited for professional business attire (which I'm fated to wear every day!).
ReplyDeleteI've also been looking for some herringbone, or even a good tweed. I'm so small (just 5'2") that all the Goodwill blazers and skirts just dwarf me, alas. If only I had your sewing skills!

I also tried on those shoes! But. . . .not in that awesome color.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list... I probably need to reduce the size of mine a little to a few really thought out ones like this.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have those wedges (in purple!) and can attest that they're quite wearable.
EEK! That herringbone skirt paired with the lace top is beautiful. I would love to see what kind of skirt you're able to whip up for yourself! I'm always impressed with people who are handy with a sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteLove that JCPenney sweater vest! For some reason this year I am dying for a bomber jacket.

I love those wedges. Now, I want some! Back when I saw that lace and herringbone combo on pinterest, I fell in love too! However, I'm still looking for a great lace top. I don't know if you could do this, but I once saw a tutorial for a little girl's pencil skirt made out of a herringbone Man's blazer. So cute, I think of it every time I walk past the Men's blazers at the thrift store. Although I'm thinking that would have to be a pretty big blazer to have enough fabric (at least for me anyways)!
