Once upon a time there was a girl who scoffed when grocery stores started stocking those antibacterial wipes for the cart handles. "Psh," she snorted. "A little dirt is good. Builds up immunities." And she went merrily on her non-sanitized way and continued letting her kids eat Cheerios off the church floor and sit in un-wiped down high chairs in restaurants.
And then she started feeling like junk and turns out she had a weird virus. And because there were like four days when she was unaware she was carrying a communicable disease she continued mouth kissing her children and then one of them* got the weird disease as well. All from an infected shopping cart handle (or door knob or whatever).

Moral of the story: I will now be sanitizing my shopping carts.
*Baby 2. Of course.

Oh my goodness! Lilly had that and it took her 5 weeks to get over it. She was in so much pain and I felt awful! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love the braid in the hair and love the story :) Maybe your mom should have done science fair projects where you swabbed door handles and public bathroom knobs etc and then helped you culture the bacteria on petri trays....ruined me for life. LOL i sanitize everything! :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, I've heard that is terrible!! Sorry you and the baby had to deal with it.
ReplyDeleteOn a positive note, you look gorgeous with your hair like that! Not that you don't always, of course! =)
oh kayla, so sorry. i got that when i was working in a church day care a long time ago. no fun at all. hope you start to feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh man sorry that you and Baby 2 have been so sick! I can't believe he's sick again! On the upside your hair is fabulous and you look darling.
ReplyDeleteNorth Meets South
Oh no! So THAT's why you haven't been feeling well! Bummer. I don't carry hand sanitizer in my purse, but I have been known to use the wipes at the grocery store. And now I know why. :(
ReplyDeleteI am so, so sorry. Charlie had something on his hand yesterday and Joel thought it might be a blister, but upon further investigation it was a fire-ant bite. Hope baby 2 is better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh dear - that was me too ... scoffing at the sanitizing freaks. I'm a changed woman too.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is beyond cute - and your hair ... love.

Last year my little boy got it, and apparently I did too when a HUGE canker sore showed up on my TONSIL. (Apparently many adults manifest it this way) It was seriously the most painful thing ever. I always try to sanitize those carts!
ReplyDeleteIt is so frusterated when mom gets sick along with the kids...feel better soon. Love the braid!!!
ReplyDeleteI know i always kind of smirk when i see people wiping down the carts, maybe i won't be smirking anymore!
ReplyDeletebrett
Well then. That's no fun. Maybe I will think twice about using those wipes. I do love your braid, though :)
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how many people you just turned into germaphobes!
ReplyDeleteI am still convinced that the more you sanitize the more you will get sick.
I'm a teacher and I had to learn the hard way to wash my hands immediately before I leave to go home or as soon as I get home. I used to get sick so much my first year. But now, any chance I get, I wash my hands.
ReplyDeleteI love the maxi dress on you!
Complex Cardigans
It IS THE WORST!!!! I am so sorry!! Those shopping carts are NASTY!! I believe there are some things you wipe down, shopping carts are one of them-- in fact, I bring my own liner. We use wipes like they're going out of style -- an my kids are healthier because of it!!
ReplyDeleteAre you mormon or from the south? your style seems that way....kinda of *eh*...nothing to really show off about....
ReplyDeleteI AM a Mormon. And I'm aware my style is nothing special. You can read about why I fashion blog here.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
