One of the great tragedies of my life is that I'm not musically inclined. My singing voice is thin and small of range. My brain can't seem to wrap around the intricacies of playing anything more complicated than a few notes of Fur Elise on the piano. I wasn't half bad at the recorder in 3rd grade but even I got a little tired of 'Hot Cross Buns' after a couple hours.
But my soul responds to music- frequently in a physical, goosebumpy, teary kind of way. Here are a couple of my Sunday favorites.

I adore the MoTab version of "Come Thou Fount." I used to be in the Mormon Choir of DC and we sang that arrangement a little while back. I could hardly make it through just rehearsing it without getting teary.
ReplyDeleteYou have excellent taste. These are two of my very favorite religious hymns of all time.
