Freckles in April: The Pink and the Gray

The Pink and the Gray

Wearing Charlotte Russe sweater, Kohl's top, Gap jeans, thrifted heels

Stop laughing at my posing. Fashion blogging is Very Serious Business.

This was me implementing Merrick's patented formula.

1. Color: I looove gray and pink right now. Check!
2. Texture: Silky blouse with floofy chest bow. Check!
3. Pattern: Take a gander at that floral. Check!
4. Shine: Bejeweled cardigan AND shiny shoes. DOUBLE check. And, bonus, I remembered my wedding ring today.

I was looking through my closet and realized there is a serious pattern void going on. Sure, I've got some stripes but it's mostly boring solids. I need to work on that.

Thanks for all your lovely feedback on my blog makeover! I've had a handful of questions and comments...would a series on (very) basic DIY Blog Design be helpful? I'm no Kimmie, but I can pull together a header and tweak a little HTML when called upon.

  1. You just described my closet. All solids, no patterns. When I decided to care about clothes a few months ago, I realized that void. Ever so slowly I'm adding patterns, but I got a serious stripe addiction, and I just don't have enough stripes!

Love the poses, you hot mama you!

  4. I feel the same about the blank top and the stripes. We need more patterns in our lives :)

  7. Wowza, Kayla! The third pic is sexy sexy ;)

Anyway, I love this look, and I'm totally on the same boat as you on patterns. My closet is full of solids and I'm slowing trying to find more florals and patterened clothes to add in. I'm kind of obsessed with floral right now, but I'm so particular about it, which is why I haven't bought more.

And I loved Merrick's formula. Must write it out so I can remember it every morning!

  12. I absolutely love that floral top! Is it from this year or is it older?
