Oh my goodness gracious. Liz of Say Yes to Hoboken posted about this scallop skirt yesterday and I diiiied. So pretty and springy and I think I have to try it (sadly, I had literally JUST walked in the door from a visit to JoAnn's when I saw this. As in, the bag containing elastic and new pins was still in my hand. Why could I not have seen it BEFORE visiting the fabric store??).
Tutorial over at BurdaStyle.
Bonus: tulle is usually super cheap!
I so want one of these skirts, it's amazing!

I know, right! I tried to reach into my computer and take that skirt right then and there. Since I have absolutely no sewing skills, maybe I can play my cards right and Liz will make me one as an early Xmas gift. (she's my sister in-law and gives the best Xmas gifts. But no surprise there.)

The tutorial makes some great fabric.....but how do you turn that into an awesome skirt?! Suggestions? I'm not quite sure how I found your blog, but I like it!
ReplyDeleteI totally want to make one now...
ReplyDeletei saw this too and died. beautiful. let's really have a skirt-making party. except my sewing skills are very, very amateur.
ReplyDeleteThat is seriously so awesome. are you going to make one??? Because you should make one. and send it to me. because I'm too lazy to cut that many pieces of tulle out. You know how long that would take?
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll make a miniature-sized version, and I'll have it ready by the time I have a daughter and then she can wear it. Yes, it'll take me that long. I'm slow.
