The Last of the Sweater Weather

Wearing Old Navy dress, Mervyn's sweater, Target shoes, thrifted belt

Oh mercy, I am not ready for summer. The heat can be so oppressive. You walk outside and feel like you can't breathe, which makes it hard to feel motivated to do anything that doesn't involve laying on your bed under a high speed fan. We all start to go a little stir-crazy within a few weeks and the heat lasts for MONTHS. Thank goodness for swimming pools, otherwise I'm not sure how we'd survive.

This is my "I just took a 2 hour nap" hair. Bliss.

We got a reprieve last week. The sky was overcast and the temperature was 54 degrees when I got dressed and it was like that most of the week. Sure, it hit 80 in the afternoon, but for a couple hours I was able to pretend that summer is not impending.

However! Summer does mean swimsuit weather and I am seriously in love with Shabby Apple's new Amalfi Coast line. I usually just like one or two things from each collection but I love this whole thing end to end. Well done, S.A., well done.

If I absolutely had to choose, I love these three:

1, 2, 3
But I'd probably have to go with that middle one. It has Kayla written all over it.

If you're in the market, I saw that Shabby Apple is offering 10% off. Just enter 'Amalfi' at checkout.

  1. You are a wicked temptress. If I hadn't just gotten a new swimsuit in the mail yesterday, I would be in trouble after looking at those.

  2. I love your blog! This post made me laugh a little, because around here we are so excited for summer to come we can hardly stand it. Sick of the snow. Ready for 70-80 degree weather again. :) I love Shabby Apple's new swim line as well! Such cute stuff.

  3. no sympathy from Kansas...yet. 54 degrees? I would be frolicking around the block on one of those swimsuits...sweating.

I love this outfit! navy and green always look so classy. Is that dress old or would they maybe possibly still carry it?

  4. I like the green and navy together so much and the pattern on that dress is so pretty!

The weather is so mild around here I hardly know what to do when it tops 80. Blech.

  5. I had no idea Shabby Apple had a swim line! They are so pretty! Also loving your outfit.

Want to switch climates? I'll take the dry heat over humid cold any day. I'll take heat period anyday. 80 degrees sounds heavenly.

Anyway, I've been behind on my blog reading, and just found out about Baby #2- hope he's recovering well and gets better soon! What a scare! :(

  8. No kidding about the end of sweater weather- I wore a cardigan today aaaaand... won't be doing that again for a while. We just moved to Phoenix in February so I've been super super spoiled, weather-wise. I'm sort of in fear and trembling about the summer.
