|Wearing # 12, 22, 29 Thrifted belt, watch from my sis|
I've been laboring under the assumption that gray and brown do not mix. And then I decided, "Eh, who cares? It's day 29, baby!" And so it came to pass that I wore a dark gray skirt with a brown belt and brown boots. And I liked it.
ANYWAY! Let's talk about me and Aaron's Perfect Hot Date, shall we? Prepare yourself- there are some really awesome cell phone pictures ahead (I'm way overdue for a new phone here).
We started at Body Worlds, which was FREE (my favorite!) because A. I got the Groupon and B. I had enough Groupon credit to cover it.
When we got there the guy behind the desk told us that it was the first night that the exhibit had not been completely and insanely busy with ridiculous lines. I just happened to pick the only night when we would not have to fight crowds to see everything.
We took our time wandering through and the whole thing was just so very neat. Although, Aaron and I both occasionally just sort of had to step away and not think about the dead bodies for a few minutes (the fetuses got to me. Motherhood has made me really sensitive about that kind of thing). But still. SO cool.
|Such high quality.|
After Body Worlds I took Aaron to Cibo, a pizza place which is just a few blocks away. Some friends tried to take us there ages ago but the wait was so long we ended up going somewhere else. But it looked like such a cute place that I always wanted to go back and give it a try.
It's in this darling renovated bungalow built in 1913. There are Christmas lights and outdoor seating and a fire pit and live music and the atmosphere is just awesome. We warmed our toesies at the firepit (it got chilly again this weekend!) and ended up only waiting 20 minutes.
We were seated at a perfect table for two with a little candle and a tulip in a sweet little vase. Aaron ordered a vanilla cream soda to start. I am an avowed water drinker but I ended up drinking half of his first bottle. It was so delicious Aaron had to order a second bottle because I kept stealing sips.
For our entree I ordered the quattro formaggi pizza and Aaron got the di Notte. You guys, the noises we made while eating this pizza...it was inappropriate. But seriously. We were not aware that pizza could be that good.
We made ourselves stop eating halfway through our pizzas because they have crepes on the menu for dessert. We ordered a the strawberry nutella crepe with vanilla ice cream and embarrassed ourselves all over again with the noises and the loud exclamations. Over dessert we decided that Cibo is our new favorite restaurant and we spent the drive home coming up with reasons to go back on a really regular basis (We have to take my parents! We have to take your parents! I think those friends of ours would like it, so we should take them!).
When we got home the babies were sleeping peacefully (thank you, in-laws!) and we got to spend the rest of the evening snuggling.*
So that was our perfect date night. Great exhibit, amazing food, lots of laughs. It really doesn't get much better than that!
