 Q. What kind of camera do you use? Do you do post-processing or are these straight out of the camera? Your photos always turn out fabulous! :)

(This question came from Kimmie of Blue Paper Lanterns)

Why thank you! What a nice compliment.

There are 2 cameras at work here. The vast majority of my pictures are taken with my Canon Rebel XTi, which we bought in 2008 right before Stinky was born. It's not the world's best camera (sometimes my pictures randomly turn out fuzzy and I can't figure out why), but it works.

A couple pictures have been taken with Aaron's Canon 5D Mark ii (the posts entitled "Painting the Park Red" and "And it was all yellow" back in January feature photos from that camera). I much prefer the clarity and general awesomeness of the Mark 2 but it's not always available (Aaron's business partner takes it with him as a backup if he's doing a solo shoot, Aaron might be using it for something, etc). Plus I don't know how to use the Mark 2, which is obviously a bit of a problem if I'm my own photographer.

I do use Photoshop to make my photos a little prettier. If Aaron is behind the camera then they generally need fairly minimal touch-ups, if any. If I'm forced to use the remote and take my own pictures then they typically need a lot more help.

I dislike vignettes as a general rule but I almost always do a little midtone burning on the edges of my pictures. It draws the eye inward toward the subject and also helps a bit if anything is blown out. I usually do a little exposure and contrast adjustment as well.
