I was going through my closet this week with an eye toward purging some stuff when I realized that a few things could be salvaged with just a few stitches.
When I was pregnant with Baby 2 I bought some Fruit of the Loom v-necks. They're pretty much the same as the Hanes ones but a smidge bigger to accommodate my larger...everything. They were great for my 2nd trimester but now they're too big and a little stretched out.
These American Eagle khakis fit perfectly through the hips, bum and thighs but flare a bit too much below the knee so I never wear them.
Enter the sewing machine.
I took the shirt in on each side and shortened the sleeves. Rather than hemming the sleeves (hemming knits is not a skill I've mastered) I trimmed the old hem and stitched it back on. I love that it still looks a little raw.
I was inspired by super talented Lizzie of Cotton and Curls and her tutorial on how to take in pants. I just took a couple inches out of the inside hem to make them a bit skinnier and I like them so much more now.
