Shirt- DEB, Sweater- American Eagle, Pants- H&M, Shoes- Steve Madden, Necklace- Gift from Sis |
I'm a total sucker for shawl and stand-up collars and the like. I think it's because my mom's wedding dress had a stand-up lace collar and what little girl doesn't grow up thinking their mother's wedding dress is the epitome of gorgeousness?

See? Preeeetty. |
So pretty much if it goes up at the back of the neck, I'm sold. I have quite a few shirts and sweaters with this kind of neckline and I love them all.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood oh please won't you beeee my neighbor? |
I got this sweater this week. Um, and the pants. And a bunch of other things.
The sales, dude. They're killing me.
Also, the sooner my bangs finish growing out, the better. Vomit. In other news, I have finally learned how to french braid. I taught myself. On my bangs. That was interesting.
Beautiful picture of your mom! You always look fantastic, Kayla! I can sort of French braid my own hair but am the worst at doing my girls.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures kill me. . . .you always look so nice.
ReplyDeleteso many things to say about this post...
ReplyDelete1) i think my mom's wedding dress was awful. i told my sister that once and she was totally appalled. we are different people, my mom and i.
2) i am also obsessed with funny necklines/collars/etc. d makes fun of me because pretty much every sweater i buy has something going on up there. also, i really love this one. don't tell me where you got it though... i spent a little too much money on christmas :)
3) stop taking good pictures. you're making it hard for me to choose a favorite. if you had a baby in your arm, the last one in this post would pretty much sum you up as a person.
4) i'm glad you're growing out your bangs, even though you were pretty cute as a pregnant hippie. in other news, i can't find that picture anymore. sad day.
You have inspired me to (someday) write a post about my mom's wedding dress. Since my earliest memories of discussing her dress, it has only been made fun of. A lot. It wasn't obnoxiously hideous, just sadly really ugly. She blames poverty, which makes a lot of sense when you see the dress.
ReplyDeleteso fun! i wore my moms wedding dress in a fireside once and i felt super grown up and pretty. too bad it's now yellowed beyond wear. but yeah, i used to think it was the bomb clothing wise.
