The Wednesday Want

My family has this thing for hippos. I think it stems from the year we discovered the song "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas." We thought it was hilarious and kind of latched on to hippos after that. Or maybe it was just me? I'm not sure.

Anyway, I have quite a few hippo tree ornaments and one of the great tragedies of my life is that our local zoo has NO HIPPOS. Sure, hippos are generally considered more dangerous than lions and typically kill a lot of people in Africa each year, but I still think they look kind of cuddly.

A few days ago Liz of Say Yes to Hoboken linked to this Babble post and I suddenly find myself heartbroken that I am not giving my children this hippo ride-on toy for Christmas.

I don't even know if they'd like it but I am seriously in love.
