30 for 30: Day 3

See all my 30 for 30 posts here

I had something completely different planned for today but then a new friend in the neighborhood invited us to the park (yay for new friends!) and I had do a quick change. This shirt is good for nursing in public, which I inevitably have to do (Baby 2 LOVES to eat at awkward times). I'm glad I had this sweater in my items because it was actually chilly enough for a little layering action (hallelujah). It was even maybe cool enough to wear the boots I wanted to wear but...sand. Sand is an enemy to all shoes (except plastic-y flip flops) and I wasn't willing to sacrifice either pair of my boots to the park gods. These sandals are on their way out anyway so they got to get all dusty.

Accessories: sparrow necklace I've had for years (you can barely see it) and a thrifted belt that I ended up taking off a couple hours later and liked the outfit a lot better. Which just goes to show you: just because you HAVE a belt doesn't mean you NEED a belt.

Hair inspiration from new-to-me Pear and Peacock. She's a gorgeous girl with gorgeous hair and a gorgeous blog that has me saying things like, "Victory rolls! Of course! Why have I never worn victory rolls??" Which led to like an hour of rolling and unrolling and pinning and unpinning and maaaybe a little bit of mild swearing. What I'm saying is, the victory rolls? They take some practice, my friends. Check back with me in like a year and mine might start to resemble hers.

  1. I love the down-home feel of this outfit with the fun and inventive hair style. It's a great combo. And the brown belt really helps to pull everything together and polish off the look. - Katy
