I apologize for the headless picture but I honestly don't think I have ever taken a worse picture in my life. I pulled it up on my computer and actually said out loud, "Sweet. merciful. love." I tried to salvage it by photoshopping out the dark circles and whatnot but there's only so much you can do with a puffy exhausted face. For that I would like to thank Baby 2 for waking up FOUR TIMES last night. I thought I had done a pretty good job with the concealer and stuff making myself look like not so much of a trainwreck but the mirror with the flattering bathroom lighting? It lies.
Anyway, this morning it was really quite cool at our house and I was like, "YAY! Boots! Layers!" And then we got to the park and it was like 15 degrees warmer and I overheated and died. It was very tragic.

After the horrific nature of the above picture I declared a serious do-over. I got my kids down for naps at the same time and took a real shower. It was technically my second shower of the day but this one involved shampoo and conditioner and a razor instead of my usual quick soap up, rinse off, and a shower cap to protect my hair because eh, it doesn't really need to be washed for another day or two, right?
After a big bottle of water, some ibuprofen and a cold washcloth the exhausted puffiness and headachiness ebbed a bit and I put on makeup and curled my hair and what do you know? I felt much more like my hot mama self instead of a punching bag and I made Aaron take me out to dinner. We had some Chipotle with the babies and the in-laws and it turned into a really lovely evening.
It's nice to know that at 2 in the afternoon you still have time to completely turn your day around.
